Firehouse Subs: When you first walk into Firehouse Subs, at 10060 Grant St. in Thornton, the staff will tell you that they serve the hottest subs in town.
That’s because the subs that they serve are piled high with oversized portions of premium hand-sliced meats and cheeses, steamed to make the flavors burst, and then served “fully involved,” with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, mustard and a dill spear on the side.
The piping hot Hook & Ladder with smoked turkey and Virginia ham, smothered with Monterey Jack cheese, is the number one selling sub within the chain.
This staffer had the sizzling New York Steamer, with its mountain of Corned Beef and Pastrami and great tasting bread.
We all know a good sandwich starts with the bread.
Firehouse Subs customers are true hot sauce fanatics and each restaurant offers guests a choice of at least 50 different sauces, from Firehouse’s signature sauce, Captain Sorensen’s Datil Pepper Hot Sauce to Dave’s Jammin’ Jerk Sauce.
These firemen know how to make a good sub.
For more information, give them a call at 303-736-8066.
CELTIC TAVERN at RIVERSIDE DOWNS, located at 2610 W. Belleview Ave., is more of a neighborhood-gathering place, in comparison to its sister in LoDo.
They serve an area favorite of Welsh cream tea on Wednesdays and also have Celtic music on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with chips, curry, and pitchers of Coors and Bud.
You may find this location a little more like your neighborhood pub and diner, with a touch of Irish elegance, rather than a traditional Irish tavern.
For more information visit Heather, Wendy and Kevin, pictured from left, any day of the week, or call them at 303-795-0709.
Still need more information?

Nobody beats their prices in equipment or services.
If you mention that you saw this in the DDN, they will give you 10 percent off on any bike or service.
Stop in and meet, pictured from left, Ryan, Girts, Kenny, Ben, John, Bradford and Mary.
