Lifeline Puppy Rescue is a no-kill shelter located in Brighton that has been taking in homeless puppies from the Rocky Mountain Region, Kansas, Texas and New Mexico for 16 years and running.
They’ve adopted more than 20,000 puppies to families during this time and currently have nine up for adoption today.
As of late, they’ve been busy with their weekend adoption events, last weekend’s Taste of Colorado, and planning their Fido’s 5K Fun Run/Walk.
This is the first year Fido’s 5K will be held, and they’re expecting a large turnout. The event will be held on Oct. 4 at Sloan’s Lake with an anticipated start time of 8:30 a.m., and registration is only $25.
If you’re interested in adopting a puppy from Lifeline, you’ll need to make a personal visit to their rescue and complete a qualifying questionnaire to sign a contract.
One adopter, Kellie Swedlund, told Lifeline: “I got the world’s best puppy from you!!! He is the best, most-loving, well-behaved, beautiful dog I have ever had. My experience with your organization was stellar.”
The average adoption fee runs between $75-175 and includes one free month of veterinary care insurance. Pet insurance is a very important thing to have for your dog, especially if they’re prone to injuries. PurinaCare Pet Health Insurance was just given a “paws up” by the Firehouse Animal Health Centers, the leading animal hospital group in metro Denver. PurinaCare is offering affordable pet solutions that provide high quality coverage and plans (www.purinacare.com).
September is National Pet Health Insurance Month, and the North American Pet Health Insurance Association (NAPHIA) has launched a contest that could win you $500! All you have to do is send them a photo of your pet and a story of how pet insurance has helped you. You have until Sept. 30, and the winner will be notified Oct. 14.
For more information about the contest, check www.naphia.org.
