FATAL STABBING: At 2:30 a.m. yesterday, Denver Police received a call of a fight with injuries at 675 S. Raleigh St. When officers arrived they found three male victims suffering from apparent stab wounds. All three victims were transported to Denver Health Medical Center where one died. The deceased is described as a 21-year-old man. The other two victims appear to have non-life threatening injuries. Police learned through the investigation that there was small party going on in the residence when a fight broke out. The fight spilled out into the street and during the fight the three victims received their injuries. The reason for the fight and role of all of the individuals involved remains under investigation. No arrests were reported as of press time last night.
NORTON STRETCHES LEAD OVER BENNET: Former Republican Lt. Gov. Jane Norton has grown her lead over appointed Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo. to 14 percentage points, 51 percent to 37 percent, according to Rasmussen Reports. But Norton runs just seven points ahead of Andrew Romanoff, a former state House Speaker who is challenging Bennet for the Democratic Senate nomination, 45 percent to 38 percent. In January, Norton had a 12-point lead, 47 percent to 35 percent, over Romanoff. For the two most prominent Republicans challenging Norton for their party’s nomination, ex-state Senator Tom Wiens and Ken Buck, a country district attorney, the contest with either Democrat is much closer. Wiens leads Bennet 45 percent to 40 percent and is in a virtual tie with Romanoff, 42 percent to 40 percent. Buck for now beats Bennet 45 percent to 41 percent and Romanoff 45 percent to 39 percent. According to the poll, 53 percent of Coloradans disapprove of President Obama, who will make a cameo in Colorado on Feb. 18 to stump for Bennet.
