From live music by two of the hottest contemporary bands to an obstacle course race with jumps and bumps, the Bud Light Spring Jam that’s springing into action in Aspen/Snowmass this weekend promises to be mountains of fun.

The spring festival has been bringing people into Aspen/Snowmass for more than 10 years. And with Vampire Weekend, and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals playing for free this weekend, there has never been a better time to check out what the annual festival has to offer.

“It’s just a great way to help bring in Spring,” said Jeff Hanle, director of public relations for Aspen/Snowmass. “We’ve got a lot of stuff going on.”

The activities going on this weekend for the Bud Light Spring Jam include:

Bud Light Big Air Friday

Big Air Friday attracts competitors from near and far to show off what they can do at Snowmass Mountain. A 40-foot jump lets competitors try out their newest tricks and gives viewers the chance to see some riders catching some sweet air. Following the competition, attendees can enjoy live music in Snowmass Base Village while sipping on an après drink of choice.

KickAspen Big Air Invitational at Aspen Mountain

One of the most anticipated events of the year, the KickAspen Big Air Invitational at Aspen Mountain is in its 11th year of showcasing the best ski and snowboard athletes in the region. The athletes on Friday will compete under the lights at the base of Aspen Mountain for prize money.

Core Party

Kicking off Spring Jam is the CORE Party featuring Vampire Weekend in downtown Aspen on Friday. The show is free, open to the public, and is taking place on the corner of Galena Street and Cooper Avenue. Enjoy the beer garden, munch on kettle corn and enjoy the Weekend.

Fallen Friends Memorial Event

Held in Aspen Highlands on Saturday, this one-day event will gather teams of two-six to compete in an obstacle type course of jumps, bumps and park features. All of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club scholarship fund.

Terrain Park Boot Camp

The Terrain Park Boot Camp is an entry-level terrain park that will be set up on Fanny Hill through the weekend. Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club coaches and athletes will teach beginners how to safely slide a rail, hit a box and throw a trick. From children to parents, this is open to anyone interested in learning he ropes of the terrain park.
