It is dog fighters and pit bull and other breeders who want the ban overturned. Why? Because they MAKE MONEY from these dogs. This business lobby DOES NOT CARE that people get killed and mauled, and innocent pets get ripped to shreds. They just want to keep making MONEY from pit bulls (most of it untaxed because these do not get licensed and do not operate as legit businesses.) Breeder lobbies (including the AKC, who registers Staffordshire Terriers aka pit Bulls) spend hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to lie about pit bulls and cover up their problem, create front groups that purport to be experts and aren't, and lobby against regulation. The breeders have even hired a TOBACCO lobbyist to help them. This is ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. Pit bulls are very different from other breeds, because they are bred to be different. They are bred to have characteristics that render them dangerous in society. They were (and are) NEVER bred to be "nanny dogs" or "service dogs." They have ALWAYS been bred to be fighting dogs, with high prey drives, high ability to do damage, and the rest of the problems. And as long as pit bulls are living with people and pets, these maulings and problems will continue. PS. I'm a former AKC breeder. The corruption in the breeding industry is beyond bad.
