CGR58 - The protest started at 1. That's why your wonderful aerial photo number is off. I was there (the photo above proves it)...100 is correct. Chef David - Excellent point. I was wondering that myself. Jake - Thank you for pointing out all the wasted money. Fred - Neither am I a dog fighter or breeder and I want this overturned. Jennifer Brook - I am extremely sympathetic to anyone who has been bit by a dog. But your comment about 100% unique to the breed is simply and completely wrong. On to my real points: I find it interesting when people attempt to quote stats against the 'Pit Bull Breed'. There is no such breed. It is a nickname given for a group of breeds. But if you want some legit literature and stats about the breeds included in that group visit www.coloradopitbullrescue.com. There are stats about the temperament testing of these breeds and how they compare to other breeds. Those of you saying they were breed to kill are wrong as well. And those of you saying you don't trust them and don't think they are good dogs...have you ever actually been around one? Or are you just listening to what the media says? Because the media also said we were all going to die of the swine flu and go into a depression rivaling the Great Depression. They are loyal, devoted, people pleasing dogs. THAT is why horrible people can make them into fighters. They do it because it pleases their owners and that's their nature. My parents and I both have pit mixes (also shown in the picture above). One is a certified therapy dog and he works in homes with children who have been abused and neglected. The other two are working towards the same certification. The most highly decorated war dog was a pit. Some of the most renown police dogs are pits. So tell me why these trained professionals are allowing these 'horrible dogs' to continue in services like this if they are so awful. There are horrible people out there that want these dogs for the wrong reason. They are who we should be fighting against. I'm a single, young, white female with a pit mix. She's well taken care of, well socialized and well trained...as ALL dogs should be regardless of their breed. For those of you who are in favor of lifting the ban, please get active. That's the only way this will change. Please go to www.roverlution.org and check out Colorado Citizens Against Breed Bans. Let's help educate those people who are simply buying into scare tactics and listening to ignorant politicians like Councilman Brown.
